Bathing
Adapting a bathroom is probably the most life
changing thing you can do when daily functions become difficult or impossible.
Most people find that as they mature, bathing and toileting becomes more
challenging.
Eventually, this results in accidents.
slipping in the bath, not being able to get out of a bath or maybe
finding it difficult to stand after using the toilet. At this stage it
is necessary to think about adapting your bathroom.
We offer the following services:

| Can also be known as 'Flush
Floor Shower' or 'Wet Room Shower'.
A Wet Floor Shower is created
by dishing an area of the floor within the bathroom. The whole
of the floor is then covered with either a slip resistant vinyl
or floor tiles.
It is possible to create a Wet
Floor Shower in almost any type of property regardless of
construction. However, it is vitally important to ensure the
integrity of the floor to avoid leaks (especially when the
bathroom is on the first floor or above).
A Wet Floor Shower is best
suited to clients who needs or may need to use either a wheel
chair or a wheeled shower chair. The size of the shower is
limited to requirement or the whole room.
Tiled Wet Floor Showers are
also recognised as a modern alternative to shower trays.
A site survey is required to
advise on the correct method and products suitable for your
property.

| Low & level access Shower
Trays are shower trays that are set into the floor to provide a
near level approach to a shower.
Some trays can be laid
directly on the floor and have only a 40mm step. This type of
tray is most suited when wheeled access is not required.
Trays come in many sizes up to
1200 x 1200mm. The most common (and useful size) is 1200 x
800mm. This size allows for a wall mounted seat to be fitted so
that you can sit to have your shower.

|
| There are 3 main types of
Showers available; Electric, Mixer Valve and All-in-one Power
Shower. Each of these have a either a non-regulated control or a
thermostatic version.
Thermostatic Showers control
the temperature of the water and are very stable. The upper
water temperature can be fixed to avoid scalding. They do not
get suddenly very hot or cold because another family member uses
a tap else where in the property.
Electric showers only
heat the water that they use and are therefore very efficient.
May need substantial electrical work depending on the age and
condition of the electrics in the property.
Mixer Valves use the
existing hot and cold water which may come from either the
storage tanks / hot water cylinder or from a combination boiler.
Mixer Valves can be coupled with a pump which is then becomes a
Power Shower. It is important to ensure the existing hot water
system has the capacity required.
All-in-One Power Showers
are very similar to mixer valves but incorporate a small pump
within the housing of the shower.

| Shower enclosures (screens or
doors) can be designed to suit your requirements.
We offer a comprehensive range of
enclosures, most of which can be custom made.
Half-Height Enclosures
are most suitable in an adapted bathroom as they allow for a
carer to assist in bathing, but still remain outside of the
shower. Configurations can consist of fixed panels, floor
to ceiling poles with single, bi-fold or tri-fold doors. These
configurations can also be designed for one side only (when
shower is in an alcove) or two sided (corner access).
Frameless Glass Enclosures
when fitted on a tiled flush floor provide that ultra modern
luxury touch.
